A new survey has found that the average American would be willing to sacrifice a large portion of their income in exchange for financial security and peace of mind amid ongoing economic uncertainty. The survey, conducted by Talker Research and polling 2,000 US adults, found the average respondent, earning approximately $79,000 annually, would be willing to give up about $57,000 each year to feel financially secure and at peace. Among respondents’ top concerns was being able to consistently afford everyday necessities such as groceries and medication. Americans surveyed said they would pay an average of $21,000 annually for the reassurance of always being able to cover those costs.
