Two police officers in the Miami-Dade Sheriff's office have filed a lawsuit against Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's production company over “The Rip,” a Netflix crime drama that launched in January and was directed by Joe Carnahan. The two police officers, Jason Smith and Jonathan Santana, alleged that the movie from Damon and Affleck’s production company Artists Equity caused them “substantial harm to their personal and professional reputations,” per the lawsuit obtained by Entertainment Weekly, because the movie allegedly implied "misconduct, poor judgment, and unethical behavior in connection with a real law enforcement operation."
