The Housemaid, a best-selling book that was recently turned into a movie featuring Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney, is heading to the stage, with the psychological feminist thriller now under development to become a play. Per Variety, the Freida McFadden novel is now being developed by playwright Bekah Brunstetter, best known for Broadway’s version of The Notebook, and British company Melting Pot, led by Simon Friend and Hanna Osmolska, the company behind Broadway plays Life of Pi and Paranormal Activity. The production timeline for the stage play is currently unclear.
