The View's Sara Haines linked Shane Gillis' joke about women wearing skimpy clothes at the gym to the alleged rape case at Cornell University in 2024. Gillis made the joke on Saturday Night Live and was then called out by Schitt's Creek co-creator Dan Levy for helping to objectify women—the same women who are at the gym wearing skimpy clothes, filming themselves, inviting objectification. "Well, I typically defend comedy at all costs because I believe there has to be an area where comedians are able to walk right up to that line because some of the best stuff is when people are being super risky and risque," Haines began. "But Dan Levy brought up such a good point.”
